About us

The group was founded in 2013 by a local Cobhman, Jimmy Halligan.

Jimmy had always wanted a maritime group in the town of Cobh, so he set about recruiting singers who shared his love for songs of the sea.

And so, in a room above Jack Doyle's pub, The Molgoggers was formed.

Initially there were nine members, but over the following years three of them passed, including Jimmy himself, who passed in 2021.
